Dr. Freizinger is the Associate Director of the Eating Disorder Program in the Department of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at Boston Children's Hospital, and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.
Eating Disorders Program
The Eating Disorders Program at Boston Children's Hospital provides comprehensive, interdisciplinary care for adolescents and young adults struggling with eating disorders. The program brings together specialists in adolescent medicine, mental health, and nutrition to offer medical assessment and treatment, behavioral health services, and nutritional counseling. Services range from outpatient consultation and treatment to inpatient medical stabilization for acute needs.
Teaching & Training
For nearly 15 years, Dr. Freizinger has trained and taught fellows, residents, interns, faculty, and interdisciplinary trainees at Boston Children's Hospital. She is certified in Family-Based Treatment (FBT)—recognized by the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine as the first-line treatment for adolescents with restrictive eating disorders—and has advanced training in both DBT and CBT. She has provided national and international training in suicide risk assessment, the application of DBT in eating disorder treatment, and the implementation of Family-Based Treatment.
